Drunk Duo Booted Off EasyJet Flight to Cheers
Two passengers caused chaos on an easyJet flight from Tenerife South to London Gatwick and were marched off by Sussex Police to huge applause from fellow travellers. The late-night flight landed at 2am on Wednesday, where the disruptive pair were removed for being intoxicated and disorderly.
Vodka-Fuelled Mayhem at 30,000 Feet
Witnesses described the pair as “rowdy” after they knocked back a hefty amount of duty-free vodka during the flight. The situation got so out of hand, police had to intervene as soon as the plane touched down. One passenger caught the drama on video and told Mail Online, “A police officer emptied the passenger’s handbag onto the tarmac and a 1-litre vodka bottle that appeared to be almost empty fell out.”
EasyJet Cracks Down on Disruptive Behaviour
An easyJet spokesperson said, “We can confirm that flight EZS8036 from Tenerife to London Gatwick this morning was met by police on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard. EasyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.”
They added, “Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always EasyJet’s highest priority.”
Passengers Warned and Sent On Their Way
Sussex Police spoke to the troublemakers after the incident, giving them a stern word of advice before letting them continue on their journey.
