Tragic Hounslow Blaze Claims Five Lives

London Fire Commissioner Andy Roe has expressed heartfelt condolences following a devastating house fire in Hounslow that killed five people.

“This is a terribly sad incident and the thoughts of all of us at London Fire Brigade are with the family, friends and all those affected at this difficult time,” Roe said.

Firefighters Rally Support in Local Community

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters rushed to a mid-terraced house on Channel Close. The fire gutted the ground and first floors, also damaging part of the roof.

“Staff will be in the local community today to offer support and advice where needed,” Commissioner Roe confirmed. He added, “The welfare of our staff is very important and all those involved will be offered support from our counselling and trauma service.”

Catastrophic Damage and Heartbreaking Loss

  • One man escaped the blaze before firefighters arrived and was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
  • Five more people were found dead on the first floor when fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the building.
  • One person remains unaccounted for as investigations continue.

The London Fire Brigade was alerted at 10:26 pm and brought the fire under control by 1:25 am. Fire crews from Heston, Southall, Twickenham, Hayes, Feltham, and nearby stations battled the blaze through the night.
