Thunderstorm Alert: Yellow Warning Hits Southern UK Overnight!

Brace for Lightning and Heavy Rain

A yellow thunderstorm warning kicks in from midnight until 10 a.m. this Saturday. Warm air sweeping up from the continent is raising the odds of storms across southern England.

Spotty Storms Could Still Cause Havoc

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Andy Page warns, “Many places might dodge the thunder, but where storms do hit, expect heavy rain and frequent lightning.”

Some spots near the south coast could get hammered with 20 – 30mm of rain in just an hour. There’s even a slim chance of 50mm falling over two to three hours.

More Wet Weather on the Way

The storm threat should ease by Saturday morning but don’t pack away your brolly yet. This wave of warm air is moving northwards, making Sunday ripe for more downpours and thunderstorms.

Keep checking the weather updates—another warning could drop if conditions worsen.
