Three men have been slammed with a combined 29 years behind bars following a rapid Met Police probe into the horrific rape of a 14-year-old girl in London.
Swift Justice After Frightening Attack
The trio were arrested and charged within just ten days of the victim reporting the crime. Their sentencing took place at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 10 April, after they were found guilty in January of a chilling catalogue of offences, including rape, sexual assault, trafficking, and creating indecent images of the young victim.
- Daryl German, 43 from Lewisham – hit with 15 years plus 3 years extended licence for arranging travel for exploitation, three rapes, assault by penetration, and making indecent images.
- Jordan Donely Wint, 31 from Lewisham – jailed for 6 years for rape and assault by penetration.
- Deon Smith, 45 from Lewisham – sentenced to 7 years for rape.
All three are now on the sex offenders register for life.
How the Horror Unfolded
On 27 June 2025, police were alerted to a rape at a New Cross home. The victim, just 14 at the time, was quickly safeguarded as detectives launched a no-stone-unturned investigation. Thanks to relentless detective work and robust forensic and digital evidence, arrests were made by early July – a crack team effort that led to charges on the very same day.
Lead Detective Praises Victim’s Bravery
“I extend my thanks to the victim, whose exceptional resilience and determination has proved crucial to the successful prosecution of three dangerous individuals,” said Detective Constable Jack Best, head of the investigation. “We’ve overhauled how we tackle rape, more than doubling charges since 2021. We’re committed to giving survivors confidence to come forward by improving support and working closely with charities and justice partners.”
Chilling Details of the Crime
CCTV and digital detective work revealed German as the ringleader. He targeted the vulnerable girl walking alone in Catford, lured her to his flat, and raped her. He then brought in Wint, who also assaulted her. The pair knew she was missing but did nothing to help. German later sent explicit texts to Smith, who then raped the terrified victim at his address.
Met Police: Fighting Back Against Child Abuse
Specially trained officers have supported the victim since day one, playing a crucial role in the case. The Met is intensifying its fight on child abuse across London by investing heavily in digital forensics, rapid analysis tools, and monitoring software to crack down on registered sex offenders. These efforts have led to three times more cases solved last year and 134 extra suspects charged – showing the hard-hitting fight to keep children safe is ramping up.
