Woman Dies After Early Morning Blaze Ravages Hornsey Flat
Tragic Fire Breaks Out at Hornsey Property
A woman has tragically died following a serious fire at a flat on Uplands Road, Hornsey, in the early hours of Friday morning.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to the scene at 4:30am. They found part of the first-floor flat engulfed in flames. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Hornsey, Holloway, and Tottenham rushed to tackle the blaze.
Fire Brought Under Control but Damage Severe
The fire was extinguished by 5:38am, but not before causing significant damage to the flat. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rescued a woman from the burning property and rushed her to hospital. Sadly, despite their best efforts, she later died.
Investigation Launched Into Cause of Fire
The London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team, working with the Metropolitan Police, has launched an inquiry to determine what sparked the blaze.
“This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has lost her life. We are working alongside the police to determine the cause of the fire,” a London Fire Brigade spokesperson said.
Residents in Hornsey are being urged to stay vigilant and check their smoke alarms to help prevent further tragedies.
