Two Men Sentenced over Altercation following Fatal Stabbing in Golders Green London

Two men involved in an altercation in which a friend of theirs was killed have been sentenced for affray. Walter Veiga-Rosa, 22 of no fixed address was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 2 January after pleading guilty to affray and possession of an offensive weapon. William Ferreira, 21 of no fixed abode also admitted to affray and was sentenced to 13 months’ imprisonment suspended for 12 months, and 150 hours of unpaid work. Veiga-Rosa and Ferreira were friends and associates of 21-year-old Joseph Olopo, and were with Joseph when he was fatally stabbed in Heathfield Gardens, Golders Green on Friday, 17 February 2017. In August 2017, Jason De Sousa, 21 of no fixed address was found not guilty of Joseph’s murder but guilty of the manslaughter. He was sentenced in November to 13 years’ imprisonment.
