London Brothel Bust: Two Arrested in Human Trafficking Probe
Massive Early Morning Raids Across London
At around 5am on Tuesday 23 February, Met detectives from the Central Specialist Crime Command teamed up with Territorial Support Group officers to smash down doors at six London locations. The searches spanned Hounslow, Croydon, Newham, and Barnet in a carefully planned operation targeting human trafficking networks.
25-Year-Old Man and 24-Year-Old Woman in Custody
The raids led to the arrests of a 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman. Both face serious charges including controlling prostitution for gain and criminal property offences. One suspect was also snapped up for arranging or facilitating travel aimed at exploitation.
Police say the pair are part of a ruthless organised crime group running illicit brothels that exploit vulnerable South American women trafficked into the UK.
Seven Potential Victims Rescued
Officers have identified and safeguarded seven suspected trafficking victims during the swoop — putting them out of harm’s way. The suspects remain in custody at a west London police station while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Nick Bland said: “I am delighted the team’s hard work has led to two arrests of people believed responsible for trafficking vulnerable women into the UK to exploit them. More importantly, seven potential victims have been identified and safeguarded.
