All the victims were tourists visiting the Himalayan state to soak in its stunning scenery. The disaster struck near Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, on the road to the popular tourist hotspot, Changu Lake.
Police official Tenzing Loden confirmed the avalanche and revealed that at least 70 people are feared trapped beneath the snow.
