London Tube Gets Mobile Boost with 4G and 5G Coverage

More Stations to Get 4G and 5G Soon
Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, and Liverpool Street have already joined the 4G and 5G revolution. TfL aims to cover the Victoria and Piccadilly lines by March 2024.
Power Players Behind the Rollout
This expansion is a team effort between big telecoms like Three UK, EE, 1, and Virgin Media O2. They’re all pitching in to light up mobile across parts of the Jubilee, Northern, and Central lines.
Mobile coverage isn’t just for streaming or scrolling. It’s vital for safety too. The new Emergency Services Network (ESN) will rely on this connectivity to give first responders instant access to critical data and images during emergencies.
Mayor Sadiq Khan Cheers the Upgrade
“The new mobile coverage at these stations will be a major boost for those travelling around London – connecting key business centres and some of the popular parts of Central London and the West End. It will help Londoners and visitors to the capital to better navigate the capital and stay connected underground. Growing numbers of underground Tube stations now have 4G and 5G services, with many more to come as we continue to build a better London for everyone.” — Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
So next time you hop on the Tube, expect better signal and smoother streaming. London’s Underground is becoming a tech hotspot beneath the city streets!
