Driver Pulled from Fire Ball Horror after Collision on M27 Motorway near Southampton
The M27 Westbound near Ower was closed and emergency services rushed to the scene of a burning fireball after a BMW X5 crashed and burst into flames just after 8.30pm on Sunday evening. Minutes earlier the BMW X5 had been involved in a collision and burst into flames. Passing stoppled their vehicles and motorists pulled the driver from his burning vehicle after it crashed and left the carriageway. Moments later the vehicle was totally engulfed. A local woman who asked not to be named said “There were many brave people who stopped to pull someone out of the burning car, very dangerous and very brave of those involved. Many others who witnessed the incident unfolding said as they passed before the emergency services had arrived they couldn’t believe the amount of people taking pictures. Police closed the westbound carriage whilst fire crews dealt with the vehicle fire and they carried out their investigation. The road was fully reopened just after 11.30pm.
