Police man killed in fatal mitcham collision

Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Mitcham have named the man who died. Police were called to London Road at around 1.13pm on Thursday, 31 January following reports of a pedestrian in collision with a coach. Rashid Abdullah Alhadid, 18, from Croydon, was treated by emergency services but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident. Senior investigating officer Detective Sergeant Nick Mackian, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Rashid’s next of kin and we are continuing to piece together exactly what happened. “We are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident and can assist with our enquiries.” Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton on 020 8543 5157.
