Commuters have also expressed their frustration as buses have been forced to stop unexpectedly, leading to missed appointments and lengthy waits for alternative transport.
One passenger shared on X (formerly Twitter): “My bus just stopped in the middle of the route because the battery ran out. Driver said there was nothing he could do. Ridiculous!”
Transport for London Responds
Transport for London (TfL) has acknowledged the issues and said they are working to improve the efficiency of the electric bus network.
A TfL spokesperson said: “We are aware of reports regarding battery performance on some of our electric buses and are working closely with operators to ensure sufficient charging is available throughout the day.
Calls for Better Infrastructure
Critics argue that the expansion of electric buses has outpaced the development of charging infrastructure, leading to operational failures.
