A 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being shot while walking near Fartown Library in Huddersfield. The shocking attack happened just after 9pm last night, sparking a police hunt for two men spotted wearing balaclavas.
Masked Men Seen Seconds Before Shooting
Witnesses reported seeing two masked men lurking behind trees in a snicket off Richmond Avenue, close to the scene. The teenage victim fled with friends immediately after being shot in the leg. Emergency services were called, and the boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening bullet wound and later discharged.
Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
West Yorkshire Police have launched a major investigation. The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said:
“We are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was seriously injured in a firearms discharge in Huddersfield.” “The incident occurred on the woodland path running from Richmond Avenue to the rear of the Woodlanders FC football pitch off Spaines Road in Birkby.” “Anyone with information is urged to contact us quoting crime reference number 13260198449.”
