Two police officers face charges following the tragic death of a heavily pregnant woman and her unborn baby in south-east London.
Fatal Crash on Eltham Road
The 38-year-old woman died after her car collided with a police vehicle on Eltham Road in October 2024. Sadly, her unborn baby could not be saved.
Officers Charged
- PC Chris Johnson, 56, the driver of the police car involved, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
- Former PC Danny Tomkins, 35, driving a second police vehicle, faces a charge of dangerous driving relating to his driving standard.
Upcoming Court Appearance
Both men are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 28.
“The Crown Prosecution Service has made clear these charges reflect the seriousness of the incident,” said a spokesperson.
