Fake Boris Johnson Driving Licence Lands Man in Dutch Custody
A bizarre case has emerged from the Netherlands where a man was caught with a forged Ukrainian driving licence featuring none other than former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s photo and birth date.
Licence ‘Issued’ on Boris’s Big Day – Valid Until Year 3000!
The fake licence was dated July 24, 2019 – the very day Johnson took office as Prime Minister. Even more ridiculous, the licence claims to be valid until the year 3000.
Crash, Confusion and a Dodgy ID
- Shortly after midnight on Sunday, a car smashed into a pole near Emma Bridge in Groningen’s north.
- Witnesses found the driver standing on the bridge, unable to identify himself.
- He refused a breathalyser test and was arrested at Zuidhorn, west of Groningen.
- Police found the fake Boris Johnson licence inside the vehicle.
“Unfortunately for this individual, we did not fall for his forgery,” Groningen police quipped.
Where Did He Get It? Fake UK IDs on Sale in Ukraine
Police haven’t revealed where the dodgy licence was made, but former correspondent Kysia Hekster tweeted that fake Ukrainian driving licences are easily bought at tourist shops there.
“As far as I’m aware, the real Mr Boris Johnson was not in the Netherlands at the time,” police spokesperson Thijs Damstra confirmed.
