Chemical Spill Sparks Major Emergency Response at Cardiff University
Seven Fire Trucks and Ambulances Race to Scene
At least seven fire engines, three ambulances, and a chemical incidents unit lorry swarmed Cardiff University’s main building after reports of a hazardous spill. The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service took swift action following calls to Park Place, Cardiff.
Building Evacuated, No Serious Injuries
A university spokesman confirmed the situation is now contained, but the main building remains evacuated and temporarily closed as a precaution. “There are no serious injuries,” he said, “though paramedics are checking a small number of people.”
Emergency Services Urge Public to Avoid Area
The Welsh Ambulance Service dispatched a rapid response vehicle, two ambulances, and the Hazardous Area Rescue Team to the scene after the 11:20am alert. Police and emergency crews are still on site, managing the ongoing incident and keeping the public safe.
Investigation Underway, University Working with Authorities
The cause of the chemical spill remains unclear. Cardiff University insists it is cooperating closely with emergency services to control the situation and protect everyone on campus. Authorities warn locals to steer clear until further notice.
