The National Ice Centre hosted a cracking Easter Family Fun Day, packing the rink with a host of ice and off-ice activities. From an inflatable ice hockey rink to a shooting cage, table tennis, and garden games, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Police and Families Hit the Ice
With 500 people turning up, the City Centre and City Central neighbourhood policing teams, plus Police Cadets, were there to meet the public. They mingled with families, breaking down barriers and showing a friendly side away from the beat.
Good Times and No Broken Bones
The day was a huge success. Sergeant Paul said, “Interacting with the community this way is crucial for building trust and changing perceptions about police officers. It’s a key part of neighbourhood policing, so we were really pleased to join in at the ice rink and connect with the public.”
Ice Centre Boss Delighted
Kaylie Bickle, Assistant Operations Manager at the National Ice Centre, added: “We’re thrilled everyone had fun at our Easter Family Fun Day! It was fantastic to see Notts Police getting stuck into the activities and having a blast with our customers. Seeing them on the ice, embracing the spirit of the day, was the icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone who came!”
