Teen Boy Targeted in Leigh Road Park Shakedown – Police Want Witness to Come Forward
Police are hunting a man who may hold vital clues in a teenage robbery attempt at Leigh Road Recreation Ground.
Teens Demand Cash, Chase Boy but Get Nothing
At around 4.20pm on Saturday 13 April, a 14-year-old lad was approached by two older teens near The Bandstand. The pair demanded money, but the boy refused and legged it towards his dad, who was nearby.
The would-be thieves gave chase but bailed when the boy reached safety. No items were stolen.
Suspects Described as Hooded Teens
- Two boys, aged 16 or 17
- Both wearing hooded tops with hoods up
- One slimmer with light-coloured hair
- The other stockier build
Police Urge Witness to Step Up
Following the incident, a man spoke with the boy’s father. Officers are desperate to make contact with this individual.
“If you are the person that saw this incident and spoke to the boy’s dad, please get in touch,” said Sergeant Richard Knight.
