Two Officers Stabbed Near Piccadilly Circus in Early Morning Attack

Two male police officers were viciously attacked in London’s West End at around 6am, leaving one seriously wounded. The brutal assault happened in Haymarket, near the bustling Piccadilly Circus.

One Officer Seriously Injured, Suspect Arrested

Both officers sustained injuries, with one suffering stab wounds to the heart and now receiving emergency treatment in hospital. A man was quickly detained on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm and assaulting a medical professional.

The suspect was tased during the arrest and subsequently taken to hospital for evaluation.

Chaos and Traffic Delays Hit Shaftesbury Avenue

The violent incident has sparked major delays on the A401 Shaftesbury Avenue, between Piccadilly Circus and Wardour Street. Haymarket, just south of this area, remains cordoned off as investigation continues.
