Medical Student Caught After Acid Attack on Junior Doctor in Brighton
Disguised Culprit Pleads Guilty
Milad Rouf, 25, from Cardiff, has admitted a shocking acid attack on a junior doctor in Brighton. The medical student hid his identity by heavily dressing as a woman before launching the brutal assault. Rouf faced Lewes Crown Court on Monday, August 16, and pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Attack Details: Storming the Door with Corrosive Substance
On May 20, Rouf knocked on the door of a Steine Gardens property. When the victim, a fellow medical student, answered, Rouf threw a corrosive liquid all over her and fled. The victim suffered life-changing injuries from the vicious attack.
Police Hunt Led to Stunning Disguise Reveal
- Police scoured hours of CCTV footage to track Rouf’s movements across Brighton.
- They discovered Rouf had disguised himself as a woman to carry out the crime.
- After fleeing, Rouf dumped parts of his disguise in bins across the city before buying new clothes at Primark.
- Items matching his new outfit were found during a home search in Cardiff, along with a handwritten list detailing his disguise.
Investigation and Next Steps
“This was a premeditated, malicious and harrowing incident,” said investigating officer Rose Horan. “The victim showed incredible bravery and dignity throughout, truly inspirational. Thanks to the city’s businesses and hundreds of hours of CCTV, we built a strong case leading to this guilty plea.”
