Stalker Billy Griffiths Viciously Harasses Ex with Vile Attacks

Billy Griffiths, 28, of Ship Leopard Street, has admitted to stalking his ex-partner between September 2019 and November 2020. But he denies charges of controlling behaviour, carrying a bladed weapon in public, and burglary.

Vandalism and Threats Escalate Abuse

On September 30 last year, Griffiths smashed the windows of his former partner’s home in Paulsgrove and slashed her car tyres. This followed six months of relentless daily calls and threatening texts from withheld numbers, amounting to sustained harassment.

Poisonous Attack Targets Victim’s Beloved Dog

In a chilling move on the night of October 27, 2020, Griffiths posted butter laced with glass shards and antifreeze through the victim’s front door. Tragically, her dog tried to eat the toxic spread and had to receive emergency veterinary treatment.

Later that evening, Griffiths returned with a group of others, banging on the door and intimidating the victim. Just a week later, on November 7, he admitted trespassing into her home while she was out and stealing several electrical items, which the victim confirmed were missing.

Restraining Order in Place as Police Crack Down

Alongside his sentence, Griffiths is now banned from contacting the victim or coming near her home under a restraining order.

“Griffiths’ prolonged conduct caused the victim considerable distress and anguish,” said DC Lauren Howard, the investigating officer. “Stalking is a crime of obsession and persistence. It isolates and devastates victims.”

“We take these cases seriously and urge any victim of harassment or stalking to report it. Support is available and we work closely with partners through Hampshire’s multi-agency Stalking Clinic to stop offenders and protect victims.”
