Early Friday at 4 a.m., police slammed into a Hackney home on Fountayne Road after a distress call from Jewish volunteer medics Hatzola and the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

LAS rushed in with an ambulance crew, advanced paramedic, incident response officer, and medic in a rapid response car.

Tragic Death at Hackney Home

Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed a LAS spokesperson.

Two Arrested Over Child Neglect

Police arrested a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect. Both have since been bailed while investigations continue.

Orthodox Community Shocked by Arrests

The Met Police said: “The arrests occurred on the Sabbath, causing concern within the orthodox Jewish community. However, they were necessary given the tragic nature of the incident and investigation requirements.”
