Suspected Cigarette Thief to Face Court Over Ramsgate Post Office Raid

A suspected burglar is set to appear in court following a daring cigarette heist at a Ramsgate post office.

Early Morning Break-In on Ramsgate High Street

Kent Police were called after a break-in at the High Street post office in the early hours of Sunday, 19 April 2020. Thieves made off with a haul of cigarettes from the premises.

Lee Kennelly Charged and Remanded

Lee Kennelly, 36, from Manston Road, Ramsgate, was charged on Tuesday, 28 April with burglary with intent to steal. He appeared via video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded in custody.

The case is scheduled for a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, 1 June.
