Paedophile Groomer Jailed for Targeting Two Teenage Sisters
A vile sex offender has been locked up for abusing two teenage sisters. Charles Wells, 66, from Bedford, was sentenced to three years in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault and activity with a child at Luton Crown Court.
Grooming Started When Victim Was Just 15
Wells preyed on one girl from as young as 15. He touched her inappropriately, both under and over her clothes, and made lewd comments. Horrifyingly, the abuse also extended to her sibling, which had been going on for around four years before it came to light.
Victim Speaks Out: ‘I Lost Confidence and Trust’
“As a result of what he did, I no longer had the confidence to wear the same clothes as I used to,” she said.
“I felt that if he had those thoughts about me, other people might as well.”
“I used to be an open book, but now it takes me ages to trust anyone new. I avoid parties and festivals because I’m scared of others’ intentions.”
“I just want to move forward and think positively now.”
Detective Hails Sentence, Pledges Support for Victims
Detective Constable Jenny Bryce slammed Wells’ actions as “unfathomable” and called child sexual abuse “one of the most heinous crimes.”
She added: “We work tirelessly to support victims and bring offenders like Wells to justice. I hope his sentence makes him reflect on the trauma he caused.”
“No sentence can undo the damage, but I hope it offers the victims some comfort as they rebuild their lives.”
