Rolex Robbed in Bold Central London Heist
Detectives hunt three suspects after a 60-year-old man was robbed of his £6,000 Rolex in broad daylight in central London.
The Crime Unfolded
On Friday, 3 July, the victim was walking from Chancery Lane tube station through Brownlow Street and onto Bedford Row when two men stopped him, pretending to ask for directions to Tottenham Court Road.
After giving directions, the man carried on. Moments later, one attacker grabbed him around the neck from behind while the other snatched his phone.
The victim fought back, throwing his phone down the street and shouting for help.
Watch Snatched as Suspects Fled
While the victim was distracted, one suspect yanked his Rolex model 116710BLNR off his wrist, shouting, “I’ve got it,” before all three suspects fled—possibly via Holborn tube station.
A passerby helped the victim, who suffered minor injuries but no serious harm.
Police Release CCTV and Appeal for Info
Detective Constable Alejandra Gomez said, “It appears two suspects approached the victim while the third acted as lookout. We’ve released CCTV images of the trio and want anyone who recognises them to come forward immediately.”
“Jewellers who have been offered this specific Rolex watch and cannot explain how it came into their possession should contact us urgently.”
