Woman Found Dead as Car Goes Up in Flames on A21

Kent Police were called to the A21 near the Tonbridge exit at 2:34am on Thursday, 16 July 2020. A woman with serious injuries was found at the scene and later pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Car Fire Extinguished by Firefighters

Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived to put out a car fire at the same location. Officers are now investigating the full circumstances, including whether the vehicle blaze is linked to the woman’s death.

Man Arrested, Road Still Closed

A 31-year-old London man has been arrested in connection with the death and remains in custody. Meanwhile, the A21 is shut to all traffic between Morley’s roundabout and the Tonbridge bypass while inquiries continue.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detectives urge anyone travelling in the area at the time to come forward, especially those with dashcam footage that could shed light on the incident.
