Fire Breaks Out at Brighton Supported Accommodation

Emergency crews raced to Fred Emery Court in Sillwood Street, Brighton, after a fire broke out early this morning. The supported living block, managed by YMCA Brighton, houses 31 residents who were all evacuated safely.

Rapid Response from Firefighters and Ambulance Crews

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) scrambled four fire engines from Brighton, Hove, and Bexhill to tackle the blaze. The fire was extinguished before 4 a.m., with crews clearing the scene soon after. South East Coast Ambulance Service was also on-site as a precaution.

No Serious Injuries Reported

Initially, one person was treated for smoke inhalation, but ESFRS later confirmed no medical treatment was needed. The prompt action ensured everyone’s safety in the supported studio flats.
