Four Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing of Greek Tourist in New Cross
Four people have been charged over the shocking stabbing of Greek tourist Antonios Antoniadis, 26, in New Cross. The attack happened after Antonios left a nightclub on July 7 in what police suspect was a failed robbery attempt. Despite two weeks of intensive care, Antonios tragically died on July 21.
Nightclub Visit Ends in Tragedy
Police were called to Florence Terrace at around 9:20am the day of the stabbing. Antonios had been assaulted and stabbed, suffering serious injuries. Even with specialist trauma care, his condition worsened. Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC revealed the violent assault was linked to “an attempt to rob him by the occupants of a car that followed him home from a nightclub.”
“Mr Antoniadis was a visitor to the UK on holiday. He was a Greek national,” Jones added.
