Driver Charged After Fatal Eastbourne Crash

A man has been charged with causing death by reckless driving after a fatal collision last summer.

Tragedy on Upperton Road

The crash happened on July 26 on Upperton Road, Eastbourne, at the junction with Ocklynge Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Sadly, 75-year-old local resident Andy Forrest died from his injuries.

Police Launch Probe Under Operation Broomfield

Sussex Police quickly called for witnesses to come forward as part of Operation Broomfield.

Now, 27-year-old student Sharon Abraham from Compton Street, Eastbourne, has been charged in connection with the incident.

Charges and Court Date

  • Causing death by reckless driving
  • Failing to stop at the scene
  • Failing to report the accident

Abraham is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on February 29 to face these serious charges.
