Heroic emergency response after brutal attack

A man was rushed to a major trauma centre following a stabbing in Woolwich on Wednesday afternoon. The attack happened around 3pm on Hare Street, sparking a swift and serious emergency response.

Police, multiple ambulance crews, paramedics in fast-response cars, and London’s Air Ambulance all scrambled to the scene. The first responders arrived within five minutes, providing urgent care before the victim was rushed to hospital.

Man arrested over grievous bodily harm

Police arrested a man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. The victim, believed to be in his 20s, suffered serious facial injuries but is not thought to be in life-threatening condition.

The incident reportedly took place on Barnard Place, where a crime scene remains in place as detectives carry out investigations.

Police urge witnesses to come forward

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called shortly before 3pm on 3 July to reports of a stabbing on Powis Street, SE18. The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre. A man has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.”

“We were called at 2.54pm on Wednesday, 3 July, to reports of a stabbing in Hare Street, Woolwich. Ambulance crews, paramedics, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance attended. We treated one person at the scene before transferring them to a major trauma centre.”
