11-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Coleshill Road Hit-and-Run

An 11-year-old boy is in hospital after being hit by a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van on Coleshill Road, near the Clock Garage, on Saturday evening. The incident happened around 6:40 PM BST as the boy stepped off a bus.

Driver Flees Scene After Crash

The van driver failed to stop and fled the scene. The boy suffered a severe head injury and was rushed into surgery. He remains in stable condition.

Police Hunt Hit-and-Run Driver

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appealed for witnesses. He said, “The boy suffered a significant head injury and we need to talk to the driver. I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have any information, including dashcam footage, to please get in touch with us.”

The van has been seized by police, but the driver is still at large. DS Hughes urged the driver to “do the right thing and make contact with us.”
