Man Charged Over Late-Night Stabbing in Bexhill
A 24-year-old man has been charged following a serious stabbing incident in Bexhill. The attack occurred just before midnight on Friday, February 24, on London Road.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
The victim suffered injuries consistent with a stabbing and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment. Fortunately, he has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Suspect Arrested and Faces Multiple Charges
Connor Hyland-Whiting, from West View, Hastings, was arrested on March 1. He’s been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon related to the stabbing.
But that’s not all. Hyland-Whiting faces seven additional charges linked to three unrelated incidents. These include:
- Attempted wounding with intent
- Possession of an offensive weapon
- Possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in public
- Affray
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 6.
Police Crack Down on Knife Crime
PC Chris Diamond of the Hastings Criminal Investigations Department said: “Tackling knife crime and serious violence is one of our top priorities. We know the devastating impact these crimes have on victims and the community.”
He thanked locals for their support so far and urged anyone with information to come forward.
