Aaron Dewar, 19, has been locked up for dealing cocaine and cannabis after cops found damning evidence on his phone and in his St Ives home. The teenager was caught last March during a raid linked to Operation Hypernova, a major force-wide blitz on county lines drug crime and human trafficking.

Raid Uncovers Drugs and Cash

Police swooped on Dewar’s bedroom and discovered cannabis, weighing scales, small bags used for dealing, and £120 in cash. Crucial text messages on his mobile phone revealed he was selling both cocaine and cannabis across St Ives and nearby areas.

Two Years Inside for Young Dealer

At Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday 7 April, Dewar, from East Street, St Ives, pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and cannabis. He received a two-year sentence in a young offender institution.

“Dewar’s crimes were revealed thanks to the proactive work of officers who carried out a warrant on his home after intelligence linked him to drug supply,” said DC Lucy Carter. “Drugs bring misery and crime to communities across our county, so I hope Dewar’s sentencing sends a message that drug dealing will not be tolerated in Cambridgeshire.”

Operation Hypernova: Fighting County Lines

The raid was part of Operation Hypernova 3, which took place in March 2025. The crackdown dismantled 50 county lines and led to 35 arrests over 100 drug and human trafficking offences.
