Three Men Jailed Over Violent Disorder in Southport
Three men faced Liverpool Crown Court today, Tuesday 3 September, after pleading guilty to violent disorder during chaos in Southport.
Sentences Handed Down
- Lee Powell, 46, from Walton’s Fountains Road, got two years and four months behind bars.
- Adam Latty, 25, of Radnor Drive, Southport, was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
- Christopher Beard, 33, from Gidlow Lane, Wigan, received two years and eight months.
Police Vow to Keep Cracking Down
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said: “These three men played their part in the despicable scenes we all witnessed in Southport.”
So far, 93 people have been arrested, 58 charged, and 41 sentenced in connection with the disorder.
Roberts added, “We continue to identify more people involved in the violent disorder in Merseyside and will not stop until we’ve brought everyone before the courts.”
