Tube Pervert Jailed for Sex Assaults on London Underground

Pervert Mansoor Ahmed Locked Up for Over Two Years

Mansoor Ahmed, 30, has been sentenced to 26 months behind bars after sexually assaulting two women on the London Underground. The Cardiff Crown Court handed down the sentence following his guilty plea to two counts of sexual assault on Tuesday, 21 January. Ahmed will also be on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

Victims Attacked at Different Tube Stations

The court heard how Ahmed targeted two women in separate attacks during 2020, leaving both traumatised.

First Assault at Gloucester Road Station

On 6 September 2020, Ahmed struck at Gloucester Road Underground Station. As his victim climbed the stairs, he sexually assaulted her. Her screams startled Ahmed, forcing him to flee. The brave woman reported the attack to police the next day, sparking a public appeal for information. Ahmed was quickly named and circulated as wanted for questioning.

Second Attack at Charing Cross Station

Ahmed struck again on 20 November 2020 at Charing Cross Station. The second victim was descending steps when he assaulted her. She immediately reported the attack to British Transport Police officers on the scene. Ahmed was detained and arrested but later released under investigation.

Manhunt Leads to Arrest in Holyhead

Police struggled for months to find Ahmed, but he was finally caught on 27 May 2021 as he disembarked a ferry arriving at Holyhead from Ireland. He was promptly arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault, leading to his guilty plea and sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court.

Detective Issues Warning to Perverts on the Rail Network

Detective Sergeant David Weatherhead said: “Ahmed’s behaviour was absolutely disgusting, and there is zero tolerance for this on the rail network. I want to thank the two victims for their courage in coming forward and reporting this offence.” “Tackling violence against women and girls is a top priority for British Transport Police. If you’re a victim of sexual crime, you can report it discreetly by texting 61016. Always call 999 in an emergency.”

Public Safety Warning from British Transport Police

The British Transport Police urge anyone who experiences sexual harassment or assault while travelling on public transport to come forward. Offenders will be hunted down and held to account. If you need to report an incident, text 61016 or call 999 in an emergency.
