Two women have been caught after a string of shop thefts rocked Sittingbourne supermarkets.

Series of Thefts Hits Tesco, Co-op and Aldi

Officers probed multiple thefts across town between January and February 2023. Stolen goods included alcohol, magazines, and groceries from Tesco, Co-op, and Aldi stores.

Arrests Made in Swale Theft Spree

Shelly Earnshaw, 30, and Gentinia Bignall, 44, were arrested on Sunday 26 February as part of the Swale Victim Based Crime Team’s operation.

Sentences and Court Dates

  • Earnshaw, from Greenways, Sittingbourne, faced nine theft charges. She pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 28 February and was jailed for 200 days.
  • Bignall, of Thistle Walk, Sittingbourne, was charged with 12 thefts plus two assaults and a public order offence. She didn’t enter a plea and remains in custody until her next hearing on 7 March.
