Desperate Dog Found Starving and Injured on Allotment – Now an Urgent Appeal to Find Owner
Animal lovers are stunned after a frail, seriously ill dog was discovered locked inside an allotment in Southwick. The harrowing scene unfolded last Wednesday (May 29) at Hillview, Old Shoreham Road, when a concerned member of the public alerted Adur & Worthing Councils.
Elderly Aussie Shepherd Left to Suffer in Pain
The dog, an elderly female Australian Shepherd, was found too weak to even stand. Worse still, she had a large, raw wound on her left chest and was trapped in thick netting. The Councils’ Dog Warden Service swung into action, rushing her straight to a vet for emergency care.
Tragic Ending as No Treatment Could Save Her
Sadly, vets diagnosed the poor pooch with a severe, untreated condition so advanced that she was beyond help. In unbearable pain and with no chance of recovery, the compassionate decision was made to put her to sleep.
No Microchip, No Clue Who Owned Her
The tri-coloured dog was not microchipped, leaving authorities with no way to trace her owner. Now, they are urgently appealing for help.
