Police Hunt Gang Over Brutal Wythenshawe Rape
Detectives are on the trail of a gang who terrorised a woman in her 20s in a shocking attack in Manchester.
The victim was assaulted around 00:30 BST on Tuesday, 20 April, at Kirkup Gardens, Wythenshawe, after a night out with friends.
Community Reels As Police Launch Full-Scale Investigation
Superintendent Richard Timson of GMP’s City of Manchester South Division spoke out about the case. He said: “The shock and concern from the community following the sickening report is shared by each of our officers in Wythenshawe and across the city.”
He confirmed detectives are working tirelessly to piece together what happened. “Details aren’t fully clear yet, including the identity of those involved. We’re working around the clock to identify the attackers and understand the full extent of the assault.”
Massive Police Presence and Appeal for Witnesses
A large crime scene remains at Kirkup Gardens while forensic teams comb for evidence. Extra patrols continue in the area to boost safety.
Superintendent Timson urged the public to come forward with information. “The best help people can give now is to provide any info relevant to the enquiry.”
