Rooftop Drama in Hayes as Man Evades Cops on Tesco Express Roof

A daring police chase ended on the roof of a Tesco Express in Hayes when a man fled arrest, sparking a major emergency response. The suspect climbed four storeys to escape, forcing fire crews, paramedics, and police to mount a high-stakes rooftop operation.

Emergency Services Join Forces in High-Risk Arrest

It all kicked off in the early hours of Saturday, 14 September, near Tesco Express on Uxbridge Road. Met Police tried to arrest the man who suddenly sprinted and scrambled onto the building’s roof, leaving officers grounded and unable to reach him.

  • London Fire Brigade was called to provide rooftop access.
  • London Ambulance Service and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) stood by on scene.
  • National Police Air Service (NPAS) also joined the intensive operation.

The Met Police later praised the collaborative effort, tweeting: “Not every day you see @Ldn_Ambulance, @LondonFire, @hartgroup_org, and @NPASLondon working together to apprehend one individual. We will stop at nothing to keep our communities safe, even if it means taking to the rooftops.”

Suspect Caught Safely After Dramatic Stand-Off

With no escape, the man was eventually arrested without incident. Authorities confirmed he faces multiple charges but spared few details on what offences are involved.

The investigation is still underway as police piece together how the rooftop drama unfolded. Locals won’t forget this daredevil chase anytime soon!
