Kent Police Shut Down Illegal Rave at Darenth Country Park
Kent cops swooped on an unlicensed music bash at Darenth Country Park over the weekend, seizing sound gear and breaking up revellers before things got out of hand.
Quick Action Nips Rave in the Bud
Officers arrived around 8pm on Saturday 22 August after getting a tip-off about the illegal party. They found about 20 people setting up sound equipment ready to kick off the event and promptly dispersed the crowd. The seized gear won’t be seeing the dancefloor anytime soon.
Dispersal Order Keeps Crowd Away
To stop party-goers from returning, police slapped a dispersal order on the area and stayed at the park all night. Their presence ensured no further gatherings took place.
Assistant Chief Constable Issues Stern Warning
“This is a good example of how prompt action and the use of dispersal orders can stop a situation escalating,” said Assistant Chief Constable Nicola Faulconbridge.
“Kent is no place for unlicensed music events. Besides the noise and litter, these gatherings pose serious public health risks with little social distancing. Anyone thinking of holding or attending such events needs to think twice about these dangers.”
“Ignore our warnings and you’ll face arrest and the seizure of your equipment.”
