Police swooped on a suspicious man in St Ann’s, Nottingham, and found a rucksack stuffed with cannabis during a street arrest.

Officers on patrol spotted the suspect acting dodgy at around 2.40pm on Tuesday, 15 August. They caught up with him on The Wells Road and uncovered a stash of cannabis hidden in his bag.

Not stopping there, police searched a nearby property in St Ann’s and found more bags of Class B drugs along with several mobile phones.

21-Year-Old Arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply

A 21-year-old man has been hauled in on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

Sergeant Declan Bourne said: “This incident highlights the importance of our stop and search powers. We have been able to arrest a suspect and take a large amount of drugs out of circulation.

“The supply of drugs continues to create multiple problems in our communities and damages people’s lives. We will always respond robustly to any reports of drug dealing and it is always good news when we can seize drugs and destroy them.”
