Teen Targeted in Late-Night Phone Snatch Attempt
A man tried to swipe a phone from a teenage boy near the junction of The Grove and Milton Street around 11pm on Friday, 14 February 2020.
Thief Tries Borrow-and-Run Trick
The suspect first asked to borrow the victim’s phone to make a call. When the boy asked for it back, the man threatened to assault him. A brief struggle followed before the would-be thief fled empty-handed.
Suspect Description and Appeal
- Black male, about 5ft 11in tall
- In his 20s
- Wearing a navy blue tracksuit
Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
