Blue-Throated Macaws Fly the Coop from London Zoo!
London Zoo is sounding the alarm after two blue-throated macaws, Lily and Margot, went missing during their daily free-flight session. It’s been three days since the pair took off, and they’re nowhere to be found.
Wild Escape from the City’s Favourite Zoo
- The two-year-old macaws disappeared on 21 October 2024.
- Both birds are about waist-high and sport striking blue patches on their throats.
- Though they’ve wandered off briefly before, this time they’ve flown much further.
Public Warning: Don’t Approach or Feed Them
A London Zoo spokesperson urged: “If you spot them, do not approach or feed them. They’re wild, not tame.” The macaws have a loud, distinctive call and bright blue feathers making them easier to identify.
Help Find Lily and Margot!
Zoo experts and birdkeepers are on the hunt but need the public’s eyes and ears. If you see or hear the macaws—likely hiding in tree-filled areas—contact London Zoo immediately to help bring these feathered escapees home.
