Blaze Erupts at Woolwich Care Home Hair Salon

A fire broke out at the Parkview care home on Woolwich Road yesterday, believed to have been sparked by a faulty hairdryer in the ground-floor hairdresser.

The blaze started around 11:40 a.m., quickly drawing crews from Sidcup, Eltham, Bexley, East Greenwich, and nearby fire stations. They battled to contain the flames and protect residents.

Emergency Services Respond

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating: “At 11:46 a.m., emergency teams were on-site to treat those affected.” The road was closed to allow safe operations.
