Sir Paul McCartney’s Vintage Mercedes Sells for £7,000 at Auction
Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter Stella’s cherished Mercedes-Benz has just gone under the hammer – and it fetched a tidy £7,000. The pride of the collection? A 1992 K-reg 190E gifted by the Beatles legend to Stella for her 21st birthday.
Low Mileage & Time Capsule Condition
Ben Homer from Littleton Auctions in Worcestershire revealed the car had only 43,000 miles on the clock and spent 14 years tucked away, covered in a barn. Homer called it a “time warp” thanks to its pristine, untouched condition.
After a loving refurb by a local mechanic, the spotless Mercedes became a hot ticket for classic car collectors looking for a unique piece of rock ‘n’ roll family history.
Beatles Link Adds Extra Value
Stella McCartney, a renowned fashion designer living just 10 miles from the auction house, left a Beatles annual in the car’s back seat – a heartfelt nod to her father’s legendary band.
Though expected to sell for between £5,000 and £8,000, the final £7,000 sale price captured the sentimental value attached to the McCartney family and Beatles legacy.
Other Star Cars on Show
- A red-painted 1981 DeLorean, famously featured in Back to the Future, also turned heads. Sold by the original dealer at zero miles in rare red, it’s expected to go for £50,000 to £70,000.
The auction was a vintage motors fan’s dream, blending pedigree cars with rock legend heritage.
