Woman rushed to major trauma centre after horror crash near Westferry DLR
Emergency scramble on Westferry Road
A woman was rushed to hospital after a serious collision near Westferry DLR station in Poplar this morning. Emergency services were called to Westferry Road, E14, just after 10am on Friday, April 11.
An ambulance crew and a London Ambulance Service fast response paramedic quickly arrived at the scene. The woman, whose age remains unconfirmed, was treated on-site before being taken to a major trauma centre. Her current condition is unknown.
Police cordon and investigation underway
Video footage shows police cordoning off the area near Westferry DLR station as officers restrict public access. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted but have yet to release details about how many vehicles were involved or if any arrests have been made.
The London Ambulance Service said:
“We were called at 10.04am today (11 April) to reports of a road traffic collision on Westferry Road, E14. We treated a woman at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre.”
