A man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the stomach during a violent incident at a flat in uk/where/queensbury/">Queensbury, northwest London. The Metropolitan Police have arrested another man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Officers were called to Alpine Road, NW9, at 8.14pm on Wednesday, April 23, following reports of an assault inside a residential property.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, responded to the scene, where they found the victim with a severe stab wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called at 20:14hrs on Wednesday, 23 April to Alpine Road, NW9 following reports of an assault inside an address.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and a man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his stomach.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition. A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
Police are not seeking any other persons in connection with this incident and we do not believe that there is a risk to the wider public.”
The incident has left the Queensbury community in shock, with residents expressing concern about safety in the area. However, police have reassured the public that there is no wider threat.
