Man Fighting for Life After Shocking Assault in Maidstone Park

Kent Police raced to Brenchley Gardens, near Station Road, at around 7.20pm on Sunday 30 May after a brutal assault left a man fighting for his life.

Victim Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

The victim, a man in his 30s, was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a stable but critical condition.

Suspect Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder

Just days later, on Wednesday 2 June, officers arrested 33-year-old Hamdi Braiek from Hart Street, Maidstone. The Crown Prosecution Service has now charged him with attempted murder.

Braiek appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 June and was remanded ahead of a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 2 July.

Police Seek Witnesses and CCTV Footage

Detectives are hunting for witnesses who saw the attack shortly after 7pm. Officers urge anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Second Man Released on Bail

A 39-year-old local man, detained on Tuesday 1 June, has been bailed and must return to the police station on 28 June as investigations continue.
