Police Chase Ends in Crash After Moped Fails to Stop

A high-speed chase ended in disaster on Seven Sisters Road early Tuesday morning. At around 3:45am on April 17, a moped carrying two people smashed into a car at the junction with St Thomas Road after refusing to stop for police.

Investigation Launched Into Collision

The Met confirmed the incident and said the case has been passed to their Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a thorough probe.

Following a referral from the Metropolitan Police, we have begun an independent investigation into a collision involving a moped in north London in the early hours of Tuesday morning,” an IOPC spokesperson said.

“We have been informed that the moped had failed to stop for police prior to colliding with another vehicle. We have sent investigators to the scene and a police station to collect initial accounts from the officers involved.”
