Pensioner Hurt After Crashing Car into Lamp Post in New Eltham

A pensioner was rushed to hospital tonight after smashing his car into a lamp post on Footscray Road, New Eltham. Paramedics and the London Fire Brigade scrambled to the crash site near Cambridge Green junction.
Car Totalled, Driver Injured But Stable
Fire crews quickly made the area safe before the man was loaded into an ambulance. Thankfully, his injuries aren’t serious, but his vehicle was declared a total write-off.
Police are yet to confirm the exact cause of the smash.
